Has not only great ribs, brisket, chicken & hot sausages, but a nice selection of
sauces at each table to add extra "fire"

Do want to give them a `thumbs up' recommendation. They're one of the few places where you can get _real_ slow smoked B.B.Q. here in Silicon Valley.
Outstanding garlic and chile shrimp appetizer with a respectable andouille sausage sandwich From: TonyLima@ms.spacebbs.com (Tony Lima) Date: Sat, 04 Jul 1998 Hot Pepper Grill
Located on Hwy. 50 about two miles north of the intersection of highways 50 and 89. Phone# 530-542-1015
A must for any chile-head. Their Jamaican Jerked Chicken is almost up to Jon Shemitz's standards (less heat, but all the flavor).
Garlic smashed potatoes for those who need something to cut the heat. Highly recommended Killer Chicken

For example a small serving of curried goat with rice is $4.75. A jerked
joints entree serves 9 very spicy drummettes. There is more variety, so if
you are interested the address is 435 Hamilton near Waverly in downtown Palo
Alto. Open for lunch on Friday, dinner Monday thru Sat.
San Francisco, California 94133-4508
The Columbus location is older, more traditional chinatown decor, the Broadway location is black tile with
neon. Be sure to order the smoked duck. When I order, I order "medium" and it's about as hot as I can manage. Also very good
onion cake (not spicy, just good). Cafe Sport [Italian]
Garlicy and rich. Avoid "The Stinking Rose" around the corner. Cha Cha Cha [Caribbean]
(Two more Locations in Southern California)
Some of the best food I've had anywhere. Order Tapas rather than main dishes. Let me know and I'll be more
than happy to join you there - it helps to get more different kinds of tapas Henry's Hunan
Has excelent house-smoked ham. I invariably order a dish of/containing they ssmoked
pork, such as "Marty's Special." Also right up there: Hot & Sour Beef, the Cold Eggplant salad. Tommy's Mexican Restaurant
San Francisco, Ca. 94121 (415) 387-4747
Open since 1965. Standard Mexican fare along with Yucatecan specialties.
Absolutely the best Margaritas north of the border (except my house) made
with fresh lime & house-made Controy, & an extensive selection of premium tequilas.

San Mateo, CA, 94403-2351 650.574.9723 The pub is "real," as far as American pubs go. Local, after-work crowd. Not too tidy. Beer garden out back. Guinness that's not ice cold (tho since my spring trip to Ireland that beer of beers has been ruined for me). Big interest in local sports (lots of talk about Barry Bonds' big night before.) The burger comes with fries and the chance to get a bumper sticker if you finish it. It's served open-faced with a healthy layer of orange habanero mash layered on the patty. The aroma was enough to strike fear in the hearts of our bartender & my ever-suffering husband. The cook came out to see what kind of macho jerk my husband was to order it. They never assume that I'm the chile-head. The flavor was wonderful. Classic. I can't say it was the hottest thing I've ever eaten in my life, but it was the most of that kind of heat that I've eaten all at once. The bartender thought I was pretty tough because I wasn't turning bright red. My husband could tell I was working it because he reconizes the seriousness of the occassional dry cough. I needed the help of two pints, and a side of mayo, but finished it. I claimed my bumper sticker which reads "I Survived the New Century's Hottest Habanero Hamburger Prince of Wales Pub, San Mateo, CA." Evidentally the owner of the joint is some kind of chilli-making champion. I'd have to assume he puts out a good product. Every Thursday is chilli lunch day.
An all together enjoyable experience. I treated myself to an Its-It ice
cream sandwich & smiled contentedly/smugly at my neighbors. Was feeling
pretty proud until the bartender mentioned that the record of hab burgers
eaten in one sitting is five!!
